This music was dedicated for “Probell Tachikawa”, whose performance was brilliant at 2nd Mandolin Chamber Music Festival in Tokyo in March, 2000. The most concern on this work was how to make beautiful harmony in a small mandolin ensemble without any pressures on any parts. The main melody of this work is based on the opera ”A song of paper making”, which is composed by Hiro Fujikake.

2000年3月の第2回マンドリン室内楽 in TOKYO で素晴らしい演奏を聞かせてくれた「プロベル立川」の皆さんのために作曲したものです。小編成のマンドリンアンサンブルによる無理のない美しい響きを作るためには、どうしたらよいかという点に留意しながら完成しました。この曲の元になっているメロディーは、藤掛廣幸のオペラ「紙すきの歌」から引用されています。美濃和紙の里でユキという女性が苦労を重ねて「天狗上紙」という美しい紙を漉きあげるまでを、愛や死を交えて描いた2時間30分のオペラで、1999年に初演され、何度も再演されています。
