The original was composed for Duet, and then Quartet. It’s been arranged for Mandolin orchestra. This music was born from the project called “Mandolin chamber music in Tokyo” in 1999. Hiro composed a new piece for a group which presented the best performance in the festival. 
This music is inspired by the image of spring with beautiful greenery and new born life. 4 songs were selected  from 1 hour half musical, “BUN-NA” which was originally written by Tsutomu Minakami, then rewrote for a mandolin and a guitar. The title ” Spring Sprung” comes from the image of the spring and expresses the splendor of living.

当初、二重奏の為に書いたこの曲を４重奏で演奏出来るようにアレンジし直しました。
1999年「マンドリン室内楽 in Tokyo」で素晴らしい演奏をしたグループの為に作曲をする・・・という企画の中から生れた曲です。緑の萌え出る春。新しい命が生れる春。この曲は水上勉原作の物語による生きることの素晴らしさを歌ったミュージカル「ブンナよ木から下りてこい」の為に作曲した１時間半の音楽の中から、４曲を選んでマンドリンとギターの為に新たに書き直したものです。CO Duoのお二人の素晴らしい音色と表現を生かすように心がけました。[Spring＝春／Sprung＝飛び跳ねる、芽が出る、生じる等の過去形]
