This music was commission by the mandolin orchestra of Mission school. The meaning of “Stabat mater” is referring to Our Lady of Sorrows, which portrays her suffering as Jesus Christ’s mother during his crucifixion. It’s been set to music by many Western composers. The challenge in this music was trying to create seraphic harmony to express love from heaven, rather than focusing on the grief of the lady. In this music, Hiro tried to deliver the most beautiful harmony of the mandolin orchestra with chorus, organa and glockenspiel.For Chorus
It’s been consisted of three-part chorus, so that the menders of orchestra are able to sing during their performance. The special score for a choir is not included in this package, however a sheet music for the three-part chorus is included in the part.

この曲はミッションスクールのマンドリンオーケストラからの依頼で書かれたものです。
「スタバート·マーテル」とは悲しみの聖母という意味で、イエス·キリストを失った聖母マリアの悲しみを歌った曲であり、昔からこの題材に基づいて書かれた曲は沢山あります。しかし、私は、断じて悲しみは歌わないようにしよう……清らかな天国的な愛のうたのみを歌おう……と、強く思いました。表面的なことでは、マンドリンオーケストラとしての最も美しい音色を、最大限に生かすこと、又、声やオルガン、グロッケンを入れることによって、ハーモニー、響きの充実をはかっています。
合唱について
3部合唱はオーケストラのメンバーが楽器を弾きながら歌うように書かれています。しかし特別に合唱団を入れて演奏したい団体の為に、スコアには書かれていませんが3部合唱用の譜面がパート譜に含まれています。
