The meaning of “Stabat mater” is referring to Our Lady of Sorrows, which portrays her suffering as Jesus Christ’s mother during his crucifixion. It’s been set to music by many Western composers. The challenge in this music was trying to create seraphic harmony to express love from heaven, rather than focusing on the grief of the lady. In this music, Hiro tried to deliver the most beautiful harmony of the mandolin.
