The inspiration of this music came from infinite shining stars in the sky. The idea stared with the world “Abendmusiken”, German for “evening music”. Thinking of the delicate sounds of mandolin, the image of twinkling stars naturally depicted the medley line. Hiro wanted to revive the style of baroque music, grand concerto to the present, with simply pursuing the beautiful harmony itself. This is he titled ” Star Concerto” The main melody line has been cited from the musical ” A tale of little world”.

夜空に輝く無数の星たちを見ていると様々なイメージが浮かび上がってきます。
「アーベントムジーク」より作曲の依頼を受けたものの、一向に筆は進まず困っていましたが、「夕べの音楽」という意味のドイツ語から連想を広げてマンドリンの繊細な音色と、きらめく星たちとの関連に思い至った時に、一気に楽想が沸き上がり増殖を始めました。「コンチェルト」というタイトルを選んだのは、「音」そのものの美しさを追究したいという思いに基づき、バロック音楽の「合奏協奏曲」を現代に蘇らせたい、という意図があったからです。主要なメロディは、ミュージカル「小さな虫の物語」から引用されました。
